Dr. Kwak received a
Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of
Georgia. His research interests lie in advertising effects, e-commerce, strategic marketing,
and consumer communications. He has
published academic articles in the Journal of the Academy of
Marketing Science, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal
of Advertising Research, Journal of Current Issues and Research
in Advertising, International Journal of Advertising, Journal of Consumer Marketing, Journal of
Consumer Affairs, Media Psychology, Journal of International Consumer Marketing,
Marketing Education Review,
and others. He has
also published articles in national conference proceedings including:
Advances in Consumer Research, American Marketing Association,
American Marketing Science, Decision Sciences Institute, and IEEE Engineering Management Society. One
of his research articles in American Marketing Association proceedings
received an award as the “Best Paper in E-Business.” He has
received Excellence in Research award at the LeBow College of
Business, Drexel University. He is currently on the editorial board of the
International Journal of Advertising and the Journal of Global Academy of Marketing Science, and served as an editorial board member on the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science.
He has received Excellence in Teaching award at the
LeBow College of Business, Drexel University and a university-wide
teaching award at the University of Georgia. He is a Distinguished Teaching Fellow at Drexel.
Also, he served as an Invited Professor of Marketing to provide a Marketing Ph.D. seminar and an MBA course
at business schools in South Korea such as
Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) Business School and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
He is a Visiting Associate Professor at Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences, University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
He currently serves as the Marketing Ph.D. coordinator.
